My First Online Workshop: INTERWOVEN

Dear Friends,

I am so excited to announce that I'll be offering my very first online workshop with my dear friend, and fellow artist/ crafter/ blogger, Lisa Solomon. “INTERWOVEN:: make : thread : craft : art” is a textile-based online craft course that will guide students in four techniques over four weeks. From February 4-March 1, 2013 each week will focus on a different textile project—crochet, soft sculpture, embroidery, and quilting—with a complete step-by-step tutorial to learn the techniques and create a finished project.

Throughout the week we will also offer additional inspiration, possibilities for altering the technique, an exclusive interview with a textile artist, and suggestions for materials, tools, resources, or other studio tips. The private website will be available all day, every day, from the first day of class on February 4 through April 30—this way you can enjoy the information at your own speed even after the course has finished.

In addition to the private class website, participants will have access to an INERWOVEN Facebook page and private Flickr group where they can post their own projects and receive weekly feedback. The course is designed with the beginner crafter and the experienced artist in mind--aiming to offer everyone a supportive community, daily inspiration, complete tutorials, personal feedback, and insider tips for tools & resources.

As some of you might know, Lisa and I met through our blogs years ago and we've been friends on and off-line ever since. We share a love of colorful thread, beautiful fabrics, and using traditional crafting techniques to make contemporary art. (Oh, and ironically, we currently have the same haircut!) This is our very first online class and we are so excited that I'm totally overusing the punctuation mark!!! The entire 4-week course is just $99 before December 15 or $125 thereafter.

For more information please visit our website: www.interwoven-class.blogspot.com And there just might be a super silly video of the two of us in Lisa's studio too. Just might. I hope you'll join us for this exciting adventure--I'm eager to build this focused online craft community where we can all virtually gather and pretend we are working around one huge old farm table with mugs of cocoa to warm our hands. Yes, yes.
